Who made the Volkswagen ads?
In 1949, william bernbach, along with colleagues, ned doyle and maxwell dane, formed doyle dane bernbach (ddb), the manhattan advertising agency that would create the revolutionary volkswagen ad campaigns of the 1950s, as well as the 1960s. The copy for think small was written by julian koenig at the doyle dane bernbach (ddb) agency in 1959. Doyle dane bernbach’s volkswagen beetle campaign was ranked as the best advertising campaign of the twentieth century by ad age, in a survey of north american advertisements.
