Mark Pascal, based in Montreal, QC, CA, is currently a President and CEO at Kombi Sports Inc. Mark Pascal holds a Western University. KOMBI’s success story has always been family-led and family-minded. During my visit to KOMBI, I chatted with Mark Pascal, the company’s CEO and owner.
Where is KOMBI from?
KOMBI is a Canadian family-owned business founded in 1961. Our mission is to keep people warm, inside and out. We specialize in accessories for winter enthusiasts of all kind. The kombi. Every icon has an origin story, and for the volkswagen kombi, that story starts in 1949. When was the first Kombi made?
The Kombi is an enigma, both culturally and mechanically. It’s a van, but built on the same chassis as the Beetle. It’s quintessentially German and yet international: in particular a ubiquitous part of Latin American life, from Mexico City to Rio. The design dates from 1950, and a Dutch inventor named Ben Pon.
