What makes a great caddy?
A caddy must be able to guide any player around the home golf course. Understanding the routing of the golf course is learned the first time on the golf course. With the use of range finders and yardage books, it is expected that a caddy will be able to provide any yardage to any target requested by the player. Additionally, caddies can help speed up the pace of play. By taking care of tasks such as club selection, yardage calculations, and course navigation, caddies allow golfers to focus on their swings and maintain a steady rhythm throughout the game.A caddie is someone who assists golfers during their rounds and is considered a vital part of the game of golf. Their responsibilities include carrying the golfer’s bag, pacing yardages, replacing divots, raking bunkers and attending the flagstick.
What can a caddy not do?
A caddie must not set an object down anywhere on or off the putting green to show the line of play. This is not allowed even if that object is removed before the stroke is made. A caddie may also help you in other ways allowed by the Rules (see Rule 10.
