VCDS is a program (software) and it is free to download from Ross-Tech. However, in order to use the program you must buy a Ross-Tech interface. The license to use the program is built into the interface, the program will not work without a genuine Ross-Tech interface. The unregistered shareware version of VCDS-Lite is free for non-commercial use, but no support of any kind is available. Use in a commercial environment requires registration. What versions of Windows does VCDS work on? Windows 7, 8, 8. VCDS will probably still work on Windows XP and Vista, but we are no longer testing it on these outdated versions. Windows versions older than XP (95, 98, ME, NT4, or 2000) almost certainly won’t work.
