Is T-Roc worth buying?
The T-Roc isn’t especially exciting on the outside, but it’s got a sort of classy, solid look to it, and the 2022 update brought along some small styling tweaks that accentuated that effect. Inside, the cabin is a bit dark and sober, but it’s all well made, easy to use, and very comfortable. The Vanarama Verdict: 7/10. The T-Roc really feels like it’s in a lovely sweet spot for a family buyer looking for a decent amount of space, kit and quality and for a good price. Do T-rocs hold their value?
According to our experts, the VW T-Roc performs a little better than the class average when it comes to depreciation, retaining between 47 to 55 per cent of its resale value after three years or 36,000 miles. Sadly, depreciation is also heavy – indeed, the DS 3 E-Tense tops our list as Britain’s fastest-depreciating SUV, being worth less than a quarter of its original value at the end of a typical three-year ownership period.
Which is better, T-Roc or Tiguan?
The T-Roc is slightly easier to park than the Tiguan, and slightly cheaper – although neither of these cars are among the most affordable SUVs. It still features much of the same technology and equipment, and still has plenty of space for most buyers’ needs. The T-Roc is manufactured at the Portuguese plant in Palmela near Lisbon. Since its market launch in 2017, more than two million vehicles have been sold, making it the world’s second most successful Volkswagen SUV after the Tiguan.
