How to detach a car seat from the base?
Just follow these two simple steps: 1️⃣ With one hand, engage & hold the release lever on the back of the seat and gently tilt toward the back of the vehicle seat. With the other hand, lift the seat out of the base by pulling up on the carry handle—you’re good to go! Adjust the seat forward or back by cranking the socket near the seat motor with the “winder tool” in your vehicle’s tool kit. Consult your owner’s manual. Try using a power drill with a flexible extender if you don’t have a winding tool. Or, if you have wiring skills, try connecting the seat motor to a battery pack.
Does removing seats count as a modification?
Removing and replacing seats, changing the pedals and the steering wheel are all considered to be key modifications that need to be reported to your insurance provider. Exterior modifications While these can be a theft risk and you must notify your insurance provider, wheel modifications that are unrelated to performance are unlikely to affect your premium.
