After a six-month free trial, Car-Net costs $17. Two-year ($378) and three-year ($540) contracts represent a cost savings and are options to consider in the long run. Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect is the only category of features which is free without the Car-Net Subscription. You need three things: ‘Car-Net App Connect’ (£100 when ordered from the factory, £215 for a dealer upgrade, standard on the Pro system); any of VW’s Composite Media, Discovery Navigation or Discovery Navigation Pro infotainment systems; and a compatible mobile device with the apps downloaded.When you buy a new vehicle, you have the opportunity to use digital services from VW Connect (Plus), We Connect (Plus) or VW Connect (Basic / Navigation) for the free initial contract period.
