Why is my VW Polo losing power when accelerating?
Dirty Fuel Filter This is likely the most common cause of poor acceleration. The fuel filter is responsible for filtering out any contaminants or unwanted chemicals from the fuel before it enters the engine. A clogged air filter can restrict airflow, causing the engine to run rich (too much fuel) and resulting in jerky acceleration. This one is easy to check and doesn’t really need you to go to a mechanic. Just open up the air filter in the engine bay and change it if it looks dirty. Should take you 5 minutes.
Why is my VW Polo going into limp mode?
Limp mode can be caused by sensors in the oil and coolant system, transmission or engine sensors, wiring issues, or if sensors find a problem with the brakes or hydraulics. Can I drive my car in limp mode? The whole point of limp mode is that the car is driveable, albeit with reduced performance. If it or feels like something is seriously wrong, then it’s best to have it recovered to a mechanic. Driving in limp mode for an extended period can worsen whatever may be wrong with the car.
