DataPlug is a compact device that, during normal vehicle operation, can acquire information useful both to the driver and the mechanic. The data acquired is useful to detect problems connected to the vehicle’s management and its maintenance status. The Volkswagen DataPlug sends real-time vehicle data to smartphone connected via Bluetooth. In conjunction with the Volkswagen Connect and Volkswagen ConnectedVan smartphone apps, a wide range of data can be evaluated and displayed.

Wi-Fi is available as part of the In-Vehicle Data plan or In-Vehicle Premium plan. Alternatively, current Verizon and T-Mobile customers also have the option to add a monthly Wi-Fi hotspot subscription to their existing mobile plan. Visit the myVW app to see which plan is available for your vehicle. Pricing: $15 per month per vehicle. Limits: up to nine vehicles per account. Hotspot: Connects up to ten Wi-Fi capable devices per vehicle hotspot and varies by vehicle manufacturer. Video management feature not available for this plan.
