What is the VW car Net app?
With Volkswagen Car-Net® App-Connect at your disposal, you can connect your car to your smartphone seamlessly. Connect your phone through Android Auto®, Apple CarPlay® or MirrorLink® to see your maps, messages, music and other apps displayed seamlessly on your dash. To activate your Car-Net system, you begin by downloading the Car-Net app for iPhone from the Apple App Store or the Android app from the Google Play Store to help get connected. Or you can press the i-Button located on the overhead console to start a 6-month trial.
Do you have to pay for VW navigation?
Get access to Premium Navigation and more when you purchase an In-Vehicle Premium plan. Your subscription will automatically renew every year at the then current yearly rate (plus taxes and fees) unless you cancel before the end date of your current term. You can cancel in your account settings in the myVW app 2 . Paid subscription is required to continue services after complimentary plan expires. Services require VW ID, myVW app, and myVW account, cellular connectivity, network compatible hardware, availability of vehicle GPS signal, and acceptance of myVW and Car-Net Terms of Service.Wi-Fi is available as part of the In-Vehicle Data plan or In-Vehicle Premium plan. Is VW Connect free?
VW Connect is the direct link to your ID. Usage of these free services requires you to sign up online to a separate VW Connect contract with Volkswagen AG. Your Volkswagen ID is your key to the digital world of Volkswagen. With your Volkswagen ID, you can easily log in to various services, apps and websites. You can also securely administrate your personal data, such as your name, address and telephone numbers, in your Volkswagen ID.It allows you to conveniently use selected apps and content right in your Volkswagen. They are transmitted to the display of the infotainment system and can be comfortably and clearly controlled within your line of vision. That makes it incredibly easy to access music, news, maps or audiobooks, for example.
Is VW Car-net free?
Car-Net Safe & Secure—now available at no additional charge for five years for model year 2020 to 2023 vehicles—allows owners to access Emergency Assistance through the SOS button in the vehicle, and, if a cellular connection can be established, can put the driver in contact with the Car-Net service center, who can . Volkswagen’s five-year free Car-Net Hardware will include automatic crash notifications, an emergency assistance system, a stolen vehicle locator, and various anti-theft alerts.

Right now, Verizon is the only provider, but there are plans to expand to other providers.After a six-month free trial, Car-Net costs $17. Two-year ($378) and three-year ($540) contracts represent a cost savings and are options to consider in the long run. Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect is the only category of features which is free without the Car-Net Subscription.
