They’re elevated with that iconic sporty trim, while still offering great value.It includes several modifications to the exterior, such as 20-inch wheels with all-season tires that fill the arched wheel openings. The R-Line package also adds a stylized grille, including brake cooling vents and a diamond pattern, intakes, side sills, bumpers, and trim. Of course, R-Line badging is standard.
What is special about the Jetta R-Line?
We were happy to see our Jetta was outfitted in R-Line trim; which means blacked-out appearance, 17-inch wheels, and upgraded interior. Adding to the sporty platform, is a tiny 1. I4 turbo that is plenty capable, working hand and cog with the 8-speed automatic to deliver 32. The Jetta gets pretty good fuel economy, but it can’t top hybrids offered in rivals such as the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Hyundai Elantra. The sportier Jetta GLI version gives the Civic Si and Elantra N a pretty good run for their money, though.The GLI features a more powerful 2. I-4 TSI engine that pushes an impressive 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Keep in mind though that with more power comes higher fuel usage, which makes the VW Jetta more fuel-efficient than the VW Jetta GLI.
