What is a hitbox used for?
The hitbox is what actually checks for collisions and determines what to do after a collision is detected. Just like the hurtbox, we need to create a sprite and an object. Hurtbox. A predefined area (usually a group of rectangles or circles) that tells the game how your character is allowed to get hit by any incoming attack. Specifically, you’ll get hit by (or block) an attack if that attack’s hitbox ever overlaps your hurtbox.Hitboxes are regions that describe how much space an entity takes up, which can be shown by pressing the F3 + B keys.
Who invented the hitbox?
Dustin Huffer, founder of Hit Box, designed and developed the Smash Box controller in order to make input as binary as possible (removing the analog stick) and removing the controller’s inconsistencies.
